Last updated 29 September 2026
Kanji Detective collects, stores and shares no personal data. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking.
Data stored on your device
Your puzzle progress, streaks, statistics and whether Kanji Detective Plus is unlocked are kept only on your device and are never sent to the developer or anyone else.
This data is included in your iCloud or computer backups, which are covered by Apple’s privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes it.
Reminders
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled on your device as a local notification. Nothing is sent to a server.
Third parties
Apple handles in-app purchase payments and iCloud backups. The developer never receives your payment details or personal information.
Some example sentences link to Tatoeba and Wiktionary. These open in your browser and are covered by those sites’ own privacy policies.
When you share a result, the text goes to the iOS share sheet and you choose where it goes.
Children
Kanji Detective doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
