Privacy policy

CueID has no accounts, analytics or advertising, and it never uploads your recordings.

Your recordings

Audio is analysed on your device to find tracks, start times, BPM, key and waveforms. Your audio files are never uploaded.

Music recognition

CueID uses Apple’s ShazamKit. It creates a short acoustic signature on your device and sends only that signature to Shazam for matching. Apple returns song details such as title, artist, artwork and an Apple Music link. This processing is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.

Apple Music

If you choose to create a playlist, CueID asks for Apple Music access to search the catalogue and add the playlist to your library. You can withdraw this access at any time in your device’s settings.

Podcasts and links

Podcast searches are sent to the Apple Podcasts directory. CueID fetches feeds and downloads episodes from the publishers’ hosts, and downloads files from links you paste (for example Dropbox or Google Drive). Those servers receive standard connection details, such as your IP address, under their own policies.

Data stored on your device

Scan history, tracklists, followed podcasts, downloaded episodes and settings stay on your device. Exports are saved wherever you choose. You can delete individual scans or episodes, or delete the app to remove everything.

Purchases

CueID is free to download. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks unlimited scans, with no subscription. Apple handles payment, and CueID never sees your payment details.

Notifications

If you allow them, CueID sends on-device notifications when a scan finishes.

What CueID does not do

CueID does not collect names, email addresses or other contact details; does not use analytics, crash reporting or advertising; does not track you across apps or websites; and does not sell or share personal information.

Children

CueID is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

Updated versions of this policy will be posted on this page with a new date.
